The maiden edition of the Ghana Economic Outlook summit (GEOS) has been held at the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA )Secretariat in Accra on Thursday, April 21, 2022. 

The hybrid event featured top-notch panelists, made up of Financial Analysts, Energy Experts, Economists, and Lecturers, alongside decision-makers who discussed pertinent issues on the economy and on Climate Financing. 

GEOS is co-hosted by C-KADD Global, CGIA Institute & the Institute of Certified Chartered Economists (ICCE).

Speaking at the median edition of the summit, Economist and C-KADD Global Partner, Emmanuel Amoah-Darkwah said, “GEOS is an annual Ghana-centric conference designed to raise new minds to interrogate sound economic policy constructs towards the development and transformation of Ghana’s economy. 

It will bring together top economists, leading researchers, ministers of state, private sector business leaders, central bankers, representatives from civil society organizations, academics and thought leaders to drive conversations on how to shape Ghana’s economy.”

He added that one of the main aims of the Summit was to discuss Ghana’s journey with establishing herself at the central stage in the global economy.

“We will reflect on the steps that Ghana has taken so far, talk about how companies, new and old are disrupting the markets today, and talk about what more needs to be done going forward for Ghana to lead on all fronts.”

Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Energy, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam who spoke in the summit’s maiden theme ‘Climate Financing: Positioning Ghana’s Economy in the era of Energy Transition’, congratulated the organizers for introducing such an innovative summit to shape Ghana’s Economy. 

The first edition of the GEOS saw discussants like Charles Ofori (Policy Lead, Climate Change, and Energy Transition ACEP), Dela Herman Agbo (CEO Eco Capital Investment Management Ltd), Jeffrey Baiden (ESRP Financial Analyst), and Eunice Adjei (Economics Lecturer, Lancaster University Ghana) as Moderator.
